Alana's artistic journey

A love of Art

Alana’s vibrant personality shines just as brightly as the colourful art she creates. Her laughter is contagious, and she can’t help but giggle as she shares her story. Alana’s love for art began many years ago when she would create pieces with her Aunty, but after moving to the Barossa with her family, her passion for art took a back seat.

Discovering Tutti Arts

That all changed during her intake meeting with Kylie Hanna, Service Coordinator at My Ability Pathway (MAP). As Alana shared her interests, she expressed a desire to reconnect with her love for art. Kylie took note and researched local opportunities, eventually connecting Alana with Tutti Arts, a South Australian multi-arts organisation supporting artists with disabilities. Initially, Alana was nervous about starting again, but after a few sessions, her confidence grew as she experimented with new techniques in painting, drawing, and more.

First exhibition and first sale

Alana’s hard work paid off recently at the Tutti Arts Barossa Inside Out Exhibition, which opened on 27th August. She proudly showcased her work and even sold one of her pieces, a significant milestone for her. The success has inspired Alana, and she’s excited to continue exhibiting and selling more of her art in the future.

Building Connections

Alana's  journey is a testament to the power of creative expression and the positive impact of supportive environments like Tutti Arts and MAP. With her growing confidence, Alana looks forward to exploring new artistic possibilities and connecting with more people through her vibrant creations. 🎨✨
